INFORMATION ABOUT ALBURY LAKE
Albury Lake is located in a unique setting, right in the centre of the racecourse track, and is fully otter fenced around the entire perimeter of the lake. The lake is 9.5 acres and in places goes down to as much as 38 feet deep. The carp fishing lake was depth mapped in early 2019 and a 2D image can be found below, you will be able to see all of the variances of the lake bottom contours.
Originally it was stocked many years ago with pike and trout and then left to its own devices. Because of the depth, we have been unable to have the lake netted to see exactly what is stocked in there, so it's a real mystery lake.
We stocked the lake in October 2018 with high quality pure English carp from Simmo's and Lenny strain. They have been fed on pellet and boilie during this time and have packed on the weight dramatically. We then opened in May 2020 to our members. Since opening the lake to members, we have continued with our stocking programme, and this is still ongoing. We estimate there are now around 500 carp in the lake, a few of them are thirties, with a large amount of upper twenties in the lake stock.
Albury Lake has 15 very spacious swims with good reed coverage at either end of the lake. There are brick built toilet facilities, with hot and cold running water. Right across from the lake is the Holiday Inn Hotel, who look forward to welcoming our members if they want to reel in and go for a drink or bite to eat. There is a secure onsite car park which is locked at night for members security and security camera monitoring on the lake.
There are around 19 scheduled race days per season (October - May). Members are not permitted to fish the lakes on these days. This is all detailed in the syndicate members rules and will be advised to all members on the closed Facebook Group at the start of every season.
